What is datezero?

datezero is a real-life dating events and conversation games brand based in Helsinki, Finland. Our home is datezero.io. We bring people together in small groups, with guided prompts and group rotations that give a conversation somewhere to begin.

Our mission is to help make dating culture healthier: more welcoming, more considerate, and more comfortable to take part in. We want people to have the chance to get to know each other beyond a profile.

A welcome, without an expectation

You can be curious about meeting someone and nervous about arriving. You can enjoy a conversation without knowing where it will lead. You can take your time. Connection needs room for all of that.

We want kindness and choice to shape the experience: invitations you can decline, questions you can pass on, and interest that leaves room for an honest answer. A date, a friendship, or simply an evening you enjoyed can each be worthwhile.

A little structure helps us begin

At a datezero event, guests join the conversation game through a browser link or QR code. Small groups share prompts, and people meet new groups between rounds. The format offers a starting point; the people in the room bring the conversation to life.

Every event has its own listing with practical details and its intended audience. Our current events are in Helsinki. Check the listing for the format, entry requirements, and who the evening is for.

An invitation that travels further

You do not need to be in Helsinki to share this mission. Our journal offers practical ideas for meeting people and having thoughtful conversations wherever you live. If you would like to bring the datezero format to your city, you can apply to host.
